Intl Rumba and Salsa-On2 follow the same timing and have basic steps that break forward and backward on the same counts. Salsa in many ways is like Intl Rumba that has been sped up dramatically with more tricks and turns added but much less emphasis on good technique. If one takes the time to learn and develop good Cuban or Latin motion, then all of one’s Salsa moves will look better. Bachata is sort of like a dance made for people who can’t Cha Cha. It’s also used as an excuse for dancers to bump and grind, but I digress. Bachata and Cha Cha both follow the same basic side-to-side, forward and backward slots, and some circular patterns. If one learns proper Cuban Cha Cha hip motion, then Bachata hip motion is a piece of cake. Unlike Bachateros, good Cha Cha dancers can look sexy as hell without dry humping each other.
