Cacti + cact – you = cactus shirt

Cacti + cact – you = cactus shirt would quickly rot, due to constant high humidity and fungal diseases. Lack of direct sunlight and less air movement are bad for them too. But there are many species of cacti native to rainforests, for example, Schlumbergera Christmas cactus. They grow epiphytically on trees. Selenicereus grows on trees near the rivers in the Amazonian rainforest a can even survive periods of time underwater. Its seeds are dispersed by water during floods. This is some Rhipsalis mistletoe cactus in my rainforest terrarium. You could, but thousands of unique indigenous species of plants are already adapted to deserts and already live in deserts, including many kinds of trees and flowers. Displacing them with other plants would destroy their habitat is a terrible idea, and it would not do much to fight climate change. It’s much better to eliminate invasive species, and protect desert habitats, so they can flourish.
