I have two titles dad and step dad and I rock them both shirt was in the delivery room for the birth of our daughter! A requirement was to attend a Lamas class. This was the big day! The doctor who delivered our daughter was also on our softball team. Jokingly as our daughter was being born he said, Pete Catch this one! I was the first one to hold her! I did end up cutting the umbilical cord. So we were a team! The nurse gave me a bottle of water to give to our daughter, after a few minutes she asked. Did she drink any water? I answered she finished the bottle. Being for that moment the proudest dad on this planet earth! I read books to our daughter since she came home! My heart broke for the children we would never have, the children we had been speaking about only hours earlier before I got that message.
