LGBT flag Stitch pride shirt has a lot of other neurodivergent and otherwise strange people identify with her, great. Does she need to fit a particular label to be important in that way? And would fitting her to one particular label, which represents the categories of one particular point of view in history, make it harder to see who she is as a whole, even for autistic people? I don’t know. My answer is shaped partly by my growing disillusionment with identities that are shaped by a single diagnostic label. And my answer may be more of a question than an answer. I don’t know if my questions are even pointed in the right direction. I just know this is where my thinking has gone lately. And most of us are targeted for hostility in a huge way. I do think there’s an actual reason that people have mistaken autism for the result of trauma.
